R U OK? Day 2025

At Scope Projects, our culture is built on more than just the projects we deliver — it’s built on the people behind them. Looking after each other and creating a supportive workplace is a core part of who we are, which is why R U OK? Day holds a special place in our calendar each year.

R U OK? Day is a national day of action dedicated to reminding us all of the power of connection and the importance of reaching out to those around us. It’s a simple idea with a profound impact: that a genuine conversation can change a life.

To mark the day, our team came together for a long lunch at our head office — a chance to pause, share a meal, and connect with one another outside of our day-to-day work. Food always has a way of bringing people together, and this year’s feast was no exception.

We were also privileged to welcome Ben Higgs from Rise Foundation Australia, who delivered an incredibly thought-provoking and empowering talk. Ben shared his personal journey and insights into mental health, resilience, and the practical tools we can all use to better support ourselves and those around us. His message was powerful: that we all have the ability — and responsibility — to start these conversations, listen without judgement, and show up for one another.

The room was filled with open, honest engagement from our team, which is something we are proud of. Creating that safe space for conversation is just as important as the projects we deliver, because at Scope Projects, we know that a strong, supported team is the foundation for everything we do.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Ben for sharing his time and wisdom with us, and to our team for embracing the day with such positivity and openness.

While R U OK? Day comes around once a year, the conversation doesn’t stop there. Asking the question, listening to the answer, and offering support when it’s needed are things we can all do every day. Sometimes, a simple “Are you OK?” can make all the difference.
